Welcome to self-sufficient-life.com – A growing resource of books, articles and audio/visual about self sufficiency and rural and country style living.
Edmund Morris had dreamed for many years of moving to the country, reading all he could about farming and taking a keen interest in anything agricultural. His city life had had its ups and downs and although close to bankruptcy on more than one occasion he had managed to settle his affairs and resolved to quit the city before things got any worse "the whole business horizon seemed full of coming storms, which burst successively with desolating severity". He was under no illusions; farming would be hard work and was unlikely to make him rich, but he believed strongly that it could be made to keep him and his family comfortable and so he embarked on his journey towards self sufficiency… Read more…

Your own backyard chicken coop will provide you with daily fresh organic eggs for the kitchen. It will recycle your families food scraps and produce high quality fertilizer for your garden. Best of all, your family will be proud of the coop that you created with you own two hands.
It just makes perfect economic sense to build a chicken coop yourself instead of buying an expensive pre-built chicken coops. Pre-built coops have to be assembled anyway, you’re really just paying hugely inflated prices for the material.

You can now get the plans for this beautiful ten nest box chicken coop! The orders started rolling in when we put this coop on the web and we are still not caught up with the orders but we did take the time to make plans that you can easily follow! We are a husband and wife team as you may have guessed after seeing the e-mail address. She takes a lot of my calls and helps with the paper work. As for me I am having more fun making these coops than one should be allowed to have! I plan to keep adding photos of the coops I am making so keep coming back! The step by step guide is in JPG photo format of the chicken coop as it is being built. This works very well if you open the photos with windows photo viewer which allows you to hit your right and left arrow to scroll through the guide. The plans are $5 and we use clickbank which enables you to get a refund easily if you do not like the plans. Click here to buy the coop plans.
